PCA Partners Help Make #LEGACYSTRONG

09.20.2016

Dakota Ridge High School- In early September, the JV football team at Legacy High School, a PCA Partner, was involved in a bus crash that killed the driver and left several of the team’s coaches hospitalized. To show support for the Legacy community, student-athletes at a PCA-Colorado Student-Athlete Leadership Summit hosted by Dakota Ridge High School on Sept. 15 made a banner and took this group photo to share with Legacy.

Also in attendance at the Student-Athlete Leadership Summit were PCA Partner Green Mountain High School and Columbine High School, whose head football coach, Andy Lowry, won a  2016 Double-Goal Coach® Award Presented by TeamSnap. In the video below, Lowry discusses how sports helped Columbine recover from the infamous on-campus shooting in 1999.

Lowry’s message and this #LEGACYSTRONG banner—created via initiative of the school’s student-athletes—are both great examples of sport’s power to heal.
