Heart-to-Heart with your Favorite Sport: iHeartMedia Makes a Difference for PCA’s #DearSports Initiative

06.12.2020

iHeartMedia has stepped up to make a difference for young athletes by inviting them to share a heart-to-heart with their sport.  On six stations in New England, iHeartMedia is playing a heart-warming public service announcement featuring Tommy, a young Red Sox fan, reading his letter to the game he misses and iHeartMedia encouraging other athletes to follow his lead.

You can hear his Tommy’s pitch whether you listen to news and talk radio on WBZ-AM 1030, country on WBWL 101.7 The Bull, or contemporary hit radio on WJMN JAMN 94.5, classic on WKAF 977 The Beat of Boston, top 40 on KISS 108 WXKS, or classic rock on 100.7 WZLX.

Whatever you listen to, athletes of all ages are invited to share what you LOVE, MISS, and HOPE for in sports in a letter to your favorite sport—just submit your letter, video or both to DearSports.org by July 17 and you could be featured on iHeartMedia or on PCA’s website.  As for what you will hear on iHeartMedia, here it is:

Tommy: “My name is Tommy and I am nine years old. Dear Baseball, Where are you?  I can’t wait for baseball to return.  I miss playing for my team I also miss watching the Red Sox on TV and going to their games.”

Announcer: “We all miss the Sox Tommy, that’s why Positive Coaching Alliance is inviting kids of all ages to write a short letter to their favorite sport.  To submit a letter, visit DearSports.org.  Your child could win a prize from Franklin Sports and could even be featured right here on the air and on the PCA website.  DearSports.org.”
