Lynn Fischer

Former National-Level Swimmer, Sports Parent

Local Board Member, Colorado

Lynn Fischer is the mother of 4 very active sports kids, who all played soccer and swam while growing up, with one ending up swimming in college at Denison University and two playing club soccer in college. In her role as a sports parent, Lynn experienced how coaches have a huge influence on kids - both bad and good.

Lynn grew up in Northern California as a swimmer, because EVERYONE swam! She started at the summer league level and then moved to club swimming when she was 10. She progressed through age-group swimming all the way to placing at Junior Nationals and then to the National Level. Her final year of swimming, she qualified for the Olympic Trials. It took her years to take up swimming again, but now she enjoys it for friends and exercise.

Lynn studied Product Design at Stanford University but didn’t swim there. She played on the women’s water polo team and “marched” in the infamous Stanford Band. She then continued on and got a Master’s degree in Education. In her non-sports life, she currently spends time teaching and tutoring math. She believes the positivity of coaching spills over to teaching and constantly uses positivity to allow students to gain confidence. Lynn also loves photography and enjoy the smiles she can put on people’s faces with great portraits.
